In May Cultural Debris Excursions return to the city where it all began: Genoa, Italy. These weeks are cultural deep dives in each particular place.
Guests will stay in a fifteenth century palazzo as we explore the ancient Ligurian city of Genoa, home of Christopher Columbus, famous admirals, and forgotten saints. We will eat amazing seafood, and local pesto and focaccia (Genoa invented both!). The group will visit the hidden bay and abbey of San Fruttuoso, not accessible by car. We will travel inland to the town of Ovada and visit an active almond orchard. And we’ll have the best hamburgers in Italy while watching the waves in Boccadasse.
